Composition - Beginning and Intermediate
Learn the basic principles and skills of good composition. Students will use a variety of sources and mediums, including master paintings, photographs, and their own work.
Bring an 18“ drawing pad and pencil to the first class. Additional supplies will be discussed at first session.
Drawing - Beginning and Intermediate
Learn basic drawing principles utilizing various drawing tools. Bring a pencil and spiral-bound 18“x24“ (smooth) drawing pad to the first session.
Additional supplies will be discussed at first session.
Colored Pencil & Pastel - Beginning and Intermediate
Learn basic and innovative techniques while exploring the versatile mediums of colored pencil and pastel. Drawing from a still life or using expressive assignments, students will experience the full range of artistic and creative possibilities for these mediums. Drawing experience would be helpful.
Contact instructor for the supply list two weeks before first session. Instructor will demonstrate both mediums on the first day.
Painting - Beginning and Intermediate
A fun, experimental class for getting the paint out of the tube and onto the paper. Create and experiment with shape, form, and color. Students receive instruction in basic painting techniques.

Monoprint Workshop Beginning and Intermediate
A basic introduction to the additive and subtractive techniques used in monoprinting with demonstrations by the instructor. Beginning and returning students will actively explore the creative potential and freedom of this unique form of printing.

Color Theory Painting Workshop
The fundamentals of color are important for any serious artist. Receive instruction in mixing and layering paint and in creating color charts which visibly show what one color does next to another.

Art History
Continuing the journey through the 19th and 20th century, featuring Edouard Manet, the reluctant revolutionary, and the second half of the expressionistic Blue Rider Group, including Paul Klee and Lyonel Feninger. And as always, a surprise contemporary artist will be covered as well!
Come and find out how these amazing artists have influenced how we paint and what we see. Everyone is welcome. No previous class is required.
From Realism to Abstraction - Workshop
This unique two-day workshop will take you from the still life of the classroom to the beautiful north Georgia mountains. Experience the journey that artists like Kandinsky, Mondrian and others made from realism to abstraction. The process of finding and using fundamental structures and rhythms will strengthen your current work and open your eyes to future possibilities.
This will be an exceptional and rare opportunity to study with two experienced and skilled instructors at the same time.
